Splurge every now and then.
I know, I know, it may seem a little counter intuitive at first, but trust me, it works. If you want to save money effectively, you need to splurge every so often. Go out and buy yourself something you’ve been wanting for some time but haven’t because you thought it would require too much money or treat yourself and your family to a nice dinner. Just do something (though, not something overly big) every now and again to get that itch to spend and spend out before it builds up and explodes and you wind up doing more damage than you would have otherwise. Trust me, I know from personal experiece that if you’re just too frugal for too long a period of time, it can really backfire. So treat yourself to something this week; you derserve it!

I think I may spluge a little too often. Haha. I never actually run out of money, but I think I spend way too much on clothes and junk food. Do you have any tips for a shopaholic?
@Hannah
If you want to mitigate the damage done to your bank account, try writing down everything that you buy, especially when you’re on a shopping spree. Seeing where that money goes - and how quickly it goes, can help put things in perspective. Also, if you haven’t already, get rid of all your extra credit cards until you’re down to just one and only spend what you already have in your account. Following these few tips should help to at least lessen the impact your shopping sprees should have. Good luck and thanks for leaving a comment!
